(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The socio-political problems in the Middle East and some other countries urge a serious attention of the Islamic world. All resources of the Islamic countries should be united and utilized to solve these problems.
We realize that the USA and its allies have made some serious efforts to spread their hegemony in many countries in all aspects of Muslims’ life, such as economic, political, cultural, and societal aspects. Furthermore, they have dominated the paradigm of many Muslim countries. This is done merely in their interest and the interest of the Zionist regime.
They use the mass media to gain their malicious aims and to disturb the image of Muslims and their figures, e.g. by labeling them as terrorists or violent people. This has resulted in Islam phobia, discrimination, and violence against Muslims. Muslims around the world continue to suffer as a result of that to the degree that Muslims are being systematically killed in Palestine, Southern Philippine and Southern Thailand. Muslim Students Unity Network (MSUN) demands the Muslim countries to do effective means for the complete liberation of Palestine. The great successes that have happened recently in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, and Bahrain bring greater hope for the achievement of the rights of the Palestinians.
As what is happening in the Middle East is potentially threatening the USA influence, USA has used double standards in treating similar uprisings across the Arab countries. While they are promoting any protest in countries like Syria, they have allowed the Bahraini regime to brutally crackdown the pro-democratic movement. They are also trying to hijack the uprising in Libya and Yemen. The Muslim people are now more aware about their agenda and recognize the challenges coming ahead for these revolutions. Democratic countries in the Muslim world have a great role to support these revolutions. The silence of these countries unfortunately has left the people in those uprising countries isolated and powerless. The radical changes in Tunisia and Egypt have certainly encouraged people of the other dictators-lead countries to seek political change.
The Union of Islamic World Students calls for better cooperation among the Muslims countries and among the non-governmental organizations (NGOs) especially in promoting true democracy, and respect for human rights and forming policies in support of their people rather than the interest of hegemonic powers. The Union of Islamic World Students seeks to build a strong media network to fight against the domination of western mass media and publish the aspiration of the Islamic countries. The Union of Islamic World Students should improve their ability in analyzing and responding the problems in the Islamic world through better coordination.
Muslims problems and needs must come at the front of Muslims’ media. Islamic world students must be united to fight against the domination of the hegemonic power, i.e. USA and its allies. They must also work on strengthening the Islamic values and morals among Muslim youth. It is the best way in immunizing them against the anti-Muslims agendas. The Muslim Students Unity Network (MSUN) has the role in organizing activities in support of these goals.
